Co-Curriculars

We believe what you do outside class is every bit as important as what you do in class at Sonoma Academy.

You might find your voice on Judicial Honor Council. Stretch past your limits on the soccer field. Find meaning mentoring a child. Or experience a deep connection with another culture on a trip abroad.

Every activity helps you grow as a person and explore your talents and interests. That’s why what most high schools call “extra curricular” activities, we call “co-curricular.” We even make time during the school day for them.

Opportunities for you every day.

There are so many activities here – sports, arts, theatre, student government, student clubs, community service, travel abroad – that, as one student puts it “SA is a haven for stuff I like to do.”

We make sure you have the support you need through our Advising Program. Your faculty advisor will meet with you regularly to help you plan time wisely so you excel at both academics and your co-curricular interests.

Excellent preparation for college.

Colleges want students who combine an excellent academic record with a depth of outside interests and achievements. As an SA student, chances are very good you’ll more than meet this criterion.

You’ll also be thoroughly prepared for the college admissions process. You’ll know which schools are right for you and how to maximize your chances of getting accepted by them.

Our intensive college counseling program – which includes in-depth one-on-one counseling – goes far beyond what you’d get at just about any other school.
